Wendy Woolfson

What people I work with have to say about me.

Wendy has a very open, engaged approach, actively listening and honouring while probing our reflections and motivations […] She has a still, strong presence which commands attention and a clear ability to manage individual/time dynamics.
Workshop participant
Wendy is an inspiration to work with. She brought so much creativity to the workshop and responded to the group dynamics with a skill that got everyone involved, engaged and the event was a great success for all.
Lucy Trend
Director, Thai Massage Training Scotland
Wendy is someone I would trust within any working environment and with any group. It was a privilege to work with her on this project, and she elevated the project well beyond the brief, creating a truly special space for creativity to flourish.
Claire Coia
Curator at Glasgow Museums
The idea of using story with crafting to reflect on feelings and thoughts, then step around them to view them from a different direction was inspiring and moving. The use of language in a new way also gave another dimension to the session. I personally feel privileged to have taken part, and to have witnessed the deep, profound, and brave work the group members shared.
Rape Crisis Centre
Wendy is part of the world-leading collaboration of Art Extraordinary - a project that explores the lived experiences of mental ill-health and creativity. Wendy facilitated a number of experimental workshops for the project that produced vital spaces for participants with lived experience of mental ill-health and incarceration to carefully explore their own ideas and practices. Wendy's skilled and creative approach enabled participants to feel comfortable and supported, and in doing so the workshops produced invaluable materials for the project. Outputs directly culminating from the workshops have been used to develop a range of community resources including Glasgow Museums first mental health handling kit, academic publications, exhibitions, and creative community responses.

Wendy is a wonderful storyteller who brings richness and depth to the stories she tells which touch the heart strings. She brings a real professionalism, being well organised for any event she takes part in or organises. She has a real gift, making people feel in workshops that they have something to contribute which is valued and worthwhile. I would highly recommend her.
Anne Pitcher
Storyteller, Puppeteer, Writer
A warm and engaging storyteller, who brings richness and depth to the stories she tells.
I can’t think of anyone who wouldn’t get something from this kind of work, especially where a focus on empowerment and recovery is aimed for.
Rape Crisis Centre
The session was extremely well organised. It was thought provoking.
My confidence in Wendy as a storyteller and leader remains strong. She remains committed to her own professional and personal development and is as much a mentor to me as I am to her. Since 2011, Wendy has added counselling skills to her repertoire and gained valuable experience as a counsellor and communicator with ChildLine and more recently with Quarriers. She has also pioneered a valuable and helpful resource in the "Out of Harm" kit designed to help those affected by self-harm. In short, Wendy is a talented and experienced therapeutic storyteller and workshop leader and mentor. I continue to recommend her to you as a valuable asset to your organisation.
